About Jamie...
Our Vision

It's pretty simple...

People tend to do better when they feel better about themselves.

For this reason I practice strength-based, value-based counseling. Whether we are talking about gender, sexuality, or any other life situation, I am always going to be looking to support you, your values, and your strengths.

Together we will come up with ideas about how our conversations could be beneficial to you and what goals you'd like to work toward.

Experience and Qualifications

Jamie focused her psychology education on LGBT Studies and Child & Family Development.  She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University.  Jamie has held various positions in health and educational service centers that provided her opportunities to serve diverse populations in need.  Recent positions include work at 417 Recovery treating teens with substance abuse issues, California Family Institute as a therapist in their community mental health clinic, advocacy as a Peer Educator in the SDSU Counseling and Psychological Services Center, Research Assistant to Parent Educators working for First 5 San Diego and the Child and Family Development Department, and serving South Bay Community Services at a domestic violence shelter for women.

In addition to private practice, she strives to help integrate trans-competent and compassionate practices into outside communities by offering talks to groups.  Jamie believes that positive outcomes stem from working collaboratively with clients to build trusting relationships while attending to every person’s unique needs.  She maintains a non-judgmental therapy style with clients, is culturally sensitive, and has experience working with adolescents and adults across the gender spectrum navigating their individual, relational, and societal lives.  Jamie works from a strengths-based perspective and strives to remain empathetic and supportive of clients as they travel through their therapeutic journeys.
